The atmosphere of excitement was palpable from the first 1pm slot until the close at 11pm: for many guests the Tower holds a special personal significance, and the chance to go up to the top is a “dream come true”. People of all ages and walks of life shared the experience, from those old enough to remember eating at the revolving restaurant when it was still open to the public, to our youngest participant at just three months old.
A raffle was held in each time slot with a range of fabulous prizes generously donated by local businesses and our corporate sponsors AECOM and Tony Gee & Partners. The lucky winners will be enjoying cricket matches at the Kia Oval, meals at Fitzrovia restaurants and theatre trips, with bottles of champagne for the runners-up.
The event was hugely enjoyable for all involved – our volunteer and staff team included – and the funds raised will have a significant impact, allowing RedR to continue equipping aid workers with the life-saving skills they need.
