Planning & Management

Planning and Management

In an emergency, effective planning and management of projects and people is one of the most important requirements. Aid workers and organisations need a thorough understanding of the principles underpinning planning and management so that they can implement them effectively under the very difficult circumstances presented by an emergency or disaster.

RedR runs courses in the UK and in Sri Lanka which teach tools such as logical planning framework, project cycle management, the role of the manager, building a team, conflict management and monitoring and evaluation procedures.

"I feel better able to manage my team and understand both the needs of the team and the people who we are helping." Participant in Managing People in Emergencies run in the UK
