RedR Member working Haiti following the 2010 earthquake.
As a Member of RedR you will join our network of carefully selected humanitarian professionals and will be able to access a vast range of knowledge, resources and information services to enhance your skills as an aid worker.
Membership is open to those with a significant contribution to make to humanitarian work. As well as suitable skills and a humanitarian motivation, you must be able to demonstrate at least 5 years of relevant professional experience and 2 years of field experience.
If you are a graduate, undergraduate, or looking for a career change but lack the necessary professional experience, then we recommend our popular So You Think You Want To Be A Relief Worker? course.
You can also become a RedR Affliate and access support and guidance to develop your humanitarian career. The benefits include access to the RedR Members’ network, training discounts, and the chance to be mentored by an experienced RedR Member.
All Affiliates must have 3 years of professional experience in a role with transferable skills to the humanitarian sector; a strong humanitarian commitment; and be able to provide references.
Please note that due to the benefits of the scheme being mostly based in the UK we're currently only accepting applications from EU countries. To find out more contact our Affiliates team.
If you wish to apply for RedR Membership, please send your CV to the Membership team.
If your application reaches interview stage there is a one off payment of £55 to cover administrative costs.
Your CV will be screened by our Membership team who will assess whether you fit the general criteria for Membership. If you qualify you will be invited to complete an online application form and provide details of four professional references.
Once the Membership team receives your form and references they will assess your professional and field experience. If successful, you will be invited to an interview conducted by peers sharing similar competencies.
Only those with competencies relevant to the humanitarian sector, the right attitude and motivation will be granted Membership. There is no annual fee, but monthly donations are encouraged.
