Alexandra has more than 18 years experience in humanitarian aid, providing technical expertise, management support and training to a wide range of bilateral and multilateral aid agencies, including national and international NGOs, the Red Cross, UN agencies, the European Commission, the Organization of American States, the Caribbean Community and various governmental ministries. Countries in which she has worked include Central America and Caribbean countries, Democratic Republic of Congo, Ethiopia, Jordan, Kenya, Mali, Morocco, Poland, Somalia, Sudan, among several others.
Holding a PHD in Social Sciences, Communication and Information and a MSc. in International Cooperation and Development, Alexandra has supported development and humanitarian projects in various sectors such as: WASH, Environment, Energy, Gender, etc. and has experience with the UN Cluster mechanism. She has also conducted several learning needs assessments in Somalia, Sudan and Kenya.
Alexandra is skilled in employing interactive, participatory methods during face-to-face training workshops, and has experience in designing and delivering trainings in English, French and Spanish at community and organisational levels. She has also been involved in the development of several distance and e-learning courses.
Alexandra has worked with RedR since 2012. She trains on a wide range of courses through both the Open and Tailor-made programmes in subjects that include: Project Cycle Management, Needs Assessment, Proposal and report Writing, Monitoring and Evaluation, Resources Mobilization, Advocacy, Community Mobilization and Participatory Rural Approaches, Communication for development and Wash in Emergencies.
