Sameer Kariya

Sameer Kariya is a WASH Coordinator (Humanitarian Surge Team) at Save the Children UK. He has 14 years of field WASH experience working with National and International NGOs, UN and Red Cross in both emergency responses and development programmes. He has an MA in Rural Development as well as a Post Graduate Diploma in Disaster Management. In response to more than 15 humanitarian emergencies, both rapid and slow onset natural disasters and conflict, he had worked in Afghanistan, Ethiopia, India, Liberia, Nepal, Philippines and South Sudan. 

He is trainer and facilitator by passion, and has designed and delivered range of trainings mainly on WASH, DRR and Humanitarian practices for different agencies. Apart from WASH, he has actively worked on disaster risk reduction, gender and livelihoods projects also. 

In his last assignment, he was part of Save the Children International team as a WASH Manager in Liberia for Ebola response.
