Effective training is essential to ensure aid workers are equipped with the skills and knowledge they require to deliver successful humanitarian programmes.

Through highly participatory activities you will learn from experience, observation and feedback. Skills learnt will be put in to practice and developed as you plan and deliver your own short training sessions.

Who should attend?

Humanitarian and development personnel and consultants who are involved in planning or delivering training.

  • Adult learning and the training cycle

  • Training and facilitation techniques
  • Providing feedback and coaching

By the end of the course you will be able to:

  • State the principles of adult learning and apply them to designing and running a training course
  • Write aims and objectives for training sessions and courses
  • Demonstrate a range of training skills and techniques
  • Select appropriate activities, materials and resources for training people in humanitarian work
  • Devise tools and techniques for assessing training needs and for evaluating training

Registration and timings

Registration will take place from 9 am on day one, following which each day will run from 9.30 am and conclude at 5.30 pm..
