Providing access to safe water and sanitation is a fundamental human right and is essential to any humanitarian response. When given alongside hygiene education, it is key to reducing deaths from water-related diseases.

This workshop will provide an overview of the WASH sector, identifying the key issues to address in an emergency.

An Introduction to RedR Training

Who should attend?

  • Water, Sanitation and Hygiene Managers and Coordinators, from the field or HQ
  • Engineers and environmental health professionals looking to get into the humanitarian sector

What does the course cover? 

  • The definitions of WASH interventions and links with other sectors
  • Decision making in WASH at different stages of an emergency
  • The main standards that affect WASH programmes
  • The types of issues affecting WASH managers

This is a participatory workshop, bringing together a range of organisations providing various points of reference and experiences.

Registration and timings:

Registration will take place from 9 am, training will begin at 09.30am and the course will end by 5 pm.
