Prepare to respond

Building Humanitarian Capacity in New EU States

Austrian Red Cross

In 2012 we’re partnering with the Austrian Red Cross to deliver a unique training programme to support aid workers and humanitarian organisations in the new EU states.

Courses will be offered across a range of humanitarian areas including General Humanitarian Skills and Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH).

Co-funded by European Commission’s Humanitarian Aid Department (ECHO), the Austrian Red Cross and the City of London Corporation, the programme offers affordable opportunities for aid workers to develop their skills to respond to disasters both in Europe and around the world.

The programme caters for all knowledge levels with training appropriate for individuals beginning a career within the sector, as well as courses for experienced relief workers looking to develop specialist skills.

Diverse programmes and methodologies, skilled facilitators and international groups of 20 participants, each with different skills and experiences, will provide an ideal training environment.
