UK training

Essentials of Humanitarian Practice, 2006 RedR runs a year-round programme of training and learning events across the UK. Our courses start from basic introductions to working in the humanitarian sector through to professional courses for experienced aid workers, engineers, health workers and security experts.

Each course is developed through identifying core learning outcomes, establishing an appropriate curriculum and incorporating the profiles of each group. Training is adapted to meet the preferred learning styles of participants and ensures that at every stage there is interaction.

The emphasis is on active learning through:

  • Simulations and practice with equipment used in the field

Training is planned and presented in collaboration with relief agencies and specialist organisations, using current examples. Informal exchange of experience is a vital part of every course.
