Sphere Humanitarian Charter & Minimum Standards in Disaster Response - Awareness for NGOs

Governmental and non-governmental organisations, Red Cross, UN agencies and local and community based organisations working in the fields of disaster management and humanitarian relief in Sri Lanka. Applicants from government agencies and local NGOs will be given priority.

To assist participants to provide a more accountable and quality response to future emergencies and disasters.

Course outcomes:

 

Raise awareness of the Sphere Project

Introduce the Sphere handbook as a practical tool in humanitarian work

Enable participants to reflect on the potential contribution that the handbook can make

Improve the quality and accountability of humanitarian work

Cost:
Course fee: Band A. LKR 1,500 Band B. LKR 3,000 This is a non-residential workshop and fee includes course materials, lunch and refreshment during the workshop.
