This one-day workshop will introduce models of facilitation, basic theories, concepts of group work and cross-cultural issues but most importantly it will give participants the opportunity to get hands-on experience of facilitation.

Suitable for:
Anyone who already does or who will facilitate and manage groups and who would like to learn new facilitation skills or improve on their existing ones.
Course covers:
This workshop will explore the role of the facilitator and provide opportunities to practise a range of participative techniques. It includes:
- Using icebreakers and energisers
- Encouraging and managing group discussion
- Listening and questioning skills
- Cross-cultural issues and considerations
- Handling challenging situations in groups
The course will take place in London. Registration will take place the morning the workshop starts from 09.00 hrs, and training will begin at 09.30 hrs and finish by 17.30hrs.
Course outcomes:
At the end of the workshop, you will be able to:
- Define facilitation and the role of the facilitator in group work
- Select appropriate techniques and activities when working with a group
- Demonstrate effective facilitation skills
- Recognise and respond to group dynamics
- Apply strategies for dealing with challenging situations in groups
Cost:
The fee includes all training materials, morning and afternoon breaks and lunch. Participants are responsible for arranging their own travel to and from the venue, and accommodation if required.
