Suitable for:
Staff working in NG0s, INGOs, Local Government and Government agencies who wish to gain basic knowledge and skills in community mobilisation.
Course covers:

The workshop aims to initiate among participants the stimulation required to enhance community participation in development process.

Course outcomes:

Applicants must be able to provide evidence that they will be supported to implement/practice training skills back in the workplace.

 

By the end of the course the participants will:

  • Clarify goals of mobilisation process
  • Identify the skills required
  • Apply the principles of adult learning to the mobilisation process
  • Demonstrate a range of participatory techniques
  • Select appropriate activities and resources for mobilising people in topics relating to humanitarian work

LSCB Programme of RedR UK in affiliation with CHA has introduced three band fee structures to encourage poorly resourced local government and NGO staff members to apply for the course.


A. LKR 7,500

Fee Band: Band-A - Staff members of local & national NGOs, local government officials, CBOs and other Sri Lankan charity organisations


Band-B - Staff members of international NGOs, charity organisations with headquarters outside Sri Lanka, Red Cross societies (PNS), UN Humanitarian agencies


Band-C - Staff members from intergovernmental agencies, diplomatic representations, bilateral development agencies, donor agencies, commercial organisations This is a non-residential workshop and fee includes course materials, lunch and refreshment during the workshop. This fee is subsidised with funding support from BIG LOTTERY FUND, Oxfam GB (OGB).
