Course covers:
  • Specify what a guard does?
  • Describe how Image and acceptance & Interpersonal communication is important to a guards role
  • Describe what the threats are to you and your work & identify ways to reduce the threat
  • Describe the correct VHF Communications Procedures in the context of guard stations
  • Display the guest and visitor procedures
  • Display the correct procedure of searching people, property and vehicles
  • Conduct a Site security assessment
  • Describe the procedure for handover to another security guard
  • Recording and logging of people and vehicles
  • Describe or display what to do in a basic emergency situation (accident, intruder etc.)
Course outcomes:

This 1 day training course aims to improve the understanding of the role of guards, for the guards themselves and to ensure the standardised practices of keeping sites and people safe with procedural responses to both standard and emergency situations
