Training of Trainers

The workshop will be conducted in 2 parts. Part 1 (3 days) will introduce participants to training knowledge and skills that they will be encouraged to practice prior to returning for Part 2 (2 days). Both parts of the course will take place in Colombo and will be conducted in English.

Suitable for:

Staff working in NG0s, INGOs, Local Government and Government agencies who wish to gain basic knowledge and skills to be able to conduct training workshops.

Course covers:

The workshop aims to explore the introductory knowledge, skills and attitudes to support the development of quality training programs in NGOs, INGOs, Local Government and Government agencies. It is an introductory workshop and assumes that participants will have little or no knowledge of training methodologies.

Course outcomes:

By the end of the complete course the participants will:

  • Apply the principles of adult learning to the development of a training program
  • Develop training programs/approaches that accommodate different learning styles
  • Write learning objectives for training sessions and courses
  • Demonstrate a range of training skills and participatory training techniques
  • Enhance communication in training through the use of good facilitation skills
  • Devise strategies for assessing training needs
  • Select appropriate activities and resources for training people in topics relating to humanitarian work
  • Design, conduct and evaluate a training session

Band A - LKR 12,000 Band B - LKR 25,000

Sri Lanka price bands

Band A: Staff members of local & national NGOs, local government officials, CBOs and other Sri Lankan charity organisations.

Band B: Staff members of international NGOs, charity organisations with headquarters outside Sri Lanka, Red Cross societies (PNS), UN Humanitarian agencies.

Band C: Staff members from intergovernmental agencies, diplomatic representations, bilateral development agencies, donor agencies, commercial organisations.
