The Disaster Relief Challenge is a unique and exciting 12 hour event during which your team of 4 will encounter some of the extreme situations faced by aid workers in the field.
Competing against other teams you will need to work together to solve logistical problems, navigate precarious terrain and be tested on how well you respond when faced with critical emergency situations. Are you physically and mentally sharp enough to bring home the Challenge Cup? Take the challenge and become a relief worker for the day!
Each team is made up of 4 people, often entered from one company or organisation.
The event will run from 8am– 8pm Saturday 22 May 2010 with an optional overnight stay included to Sunday 23 May 2010.
Location: Cuffley Camp Outdoor Centre, Hertfordshire, EN6 4PR
Booking fee: £30 per person
Minimum sponsorship pledge: £2000 per team
All money raised from this event will help RedR to continue to train, recruit and support relief workers in the UK and around the world, improving the quality and coordination of humanitarian responses to natural disaster and conflict.
Each team should complete the application form and each team member must return a medical form. You will also have to include the £30 booking fee with your application. This is payable by cheque or credit/debit card. This fee will guarantee your place in the challenge and is non-refundable.
You can also enter individually and we will assign you to a team.
The Disaster Relief Challenge is a fantastic opportunity to raise funds and awareness for RedR. For more information on this event, please contact Marta Hofstrom on +44 (0) 20 7840 6005 or via email.
"I thoroughly enjoyed the whole event .. it was really good fun but also quite eye-opening about the sorts of things relief workers have to face."
