Richard Dietrich has recently been appointed as RedR UK’s Programmes Transition Director. Richard is a senior manager with over 20 years’ experience in civil engineering, humanitarian work and international development. During his career he has managed operations for NGOs, the UNHCR and consultancy companies across Asia, Europe, Latin America and Africa.

Richard’s core experience is infrastructure development, shelter and WASH in low- and middle-income countries including related technical assistance, institutional strengthening and capacity building. Most recently, Richard devised and implemented a technical assistance strategy to local consultants, contractors and authorities in Nigeria, and was involved in climate-change related research in South Asia, conducting scoping studies on carbon emission reduction within the transport sector in Bangladesh and Pakistan.

Jo de Serrano, RedR UK CEO, is thrilled: “I am very pleased to welcome Richard Dietrich to the RedR UK team and the wider RedR family. Richard brings with him not only a wealth of experience in a humanitarian and development context, but a background in engineering, all of which fits perfectly with RedR UK's work. I very much look forward to working with Richard closely to continue RedR UK's good work.”

Richard is also delighted: “It is an exciting time within RedR UK as the organisation now embarks on the implementation of its new strategy following recent restructuring. It is great to be part of it and I look forward to working with the teams in the UK, Jordan and Sudan helping them to achieve RedR UK’s vision and goals.”
