Join our latest exciting fundraising challenge - Walk For Disaster Relief!
What is it?
Participants will be asked to raise money through a walking challenge competing against their colleagues. Whoever records most steps, wins the challenge. But that’s not where it stops. Walking is only part of the Walk for Disaster Relief challenge. On completion of the walking challenge, participants will be invited to join our brand-new Disaster Relief Workshop; an interactive, dynamic simulation based on the Rohingya refugee response, where for a few hours they will step into shoes of aid workers and tackle challenges they encounter daily.
How does it work?
- We’ll create a dedicated Justgiving page for your company. By simply donating £10 to this page, your employees can join the challenge. All the participants will be encouraged to get their friends and family to sponsor their efforts on the same page.
- Next step is to download Strava app and join a dedicated Strava club where they will record their distances. They can track their progress via the leaderboard on Strava for a bit of a healthy competition!
What are the benefits?
As well as raising money for a great cause, our challenge will support the physical and mental wellbeing of your employees while offering the chance to connect virtually with other colleagues.
The miles put in will highlight the crisis and the lengths that Rohingya refugees go through to reach safety. Our Disaster Relief Workshop, based on the plight of Rohingya refugees, will give participants a unique opportunity to experience life as a humanitarian worker. They will get an insight into the complexities of disaster relief and a true understanding of the importance of RedR’s work. The workshop will also promote team building, cultural awareness, problem solving, amongst many other skills.
