  • Fundraiser of the Month, October 2017: Royal Parks Half Marathon Runners

On 8 October 14 runners took part in the Royal Parks Half Marathon in London on behalf of RedR

The day was a huge success with three teams of four taking part from Corporate supporter firms, Deltek, Costain Skanska JV, and Tony Gee, and everyone completing the run in under three hours. We suspect they were helped over the finish line by the thousands of spectators lining the Royal Parks paths, and by their dedication and training pre event.

We would like to thank all of the runners for collectively running over 150 miles, and fundraising nearly £4,500 for RedR's vital humanitarian work providing training and support to aid workers and local communities across the globe.

It was a remarkable experience, the sun was beaming, there was fantastic support from colleagues, friends and bystanders and a great atmosphere between the charities. I chose to run for RedR because it’s truly a great cause and appreciate it could be any one of us needing help and support following a natural disaster.

I chose to run for RedR because I think the background support they give to those on the front line can go unnoticed but makes a huge difference to those on the ground. Running the Royal Parks was one of the best days I've had! The atmosphere and crowds are so positive, I would do it again in a second.
