The Rankine Lecture is widely viewed as the most prestigious of the invited lectures in geotechnics. This years’ lecture, which addressed the benefits of drastically changing the established philosophy in seismic foundation design, brought together a number of employees from across our Patron firms.
After the lecture the participants joined together for the annual post-Rankine lecture dinner. Dr James Lawrence organised the Lecture, and kindly selected RedR UK to benefit from the proceeds of the raffle alongside the British Geotechnical Association Fund.
The raffle comprised of prizes such as LEGO Creator Vestas Wind Turbine, Samsung Galaxy Tablet to Champagne Tea for Two at Claridges and were kindly donated by companies who attended the dinner, including, AECOM, ARUP, Atkins, British Geotechnical Association, Byland Engineering, Cementation Skanska, Fugro, GCG, Geotechnical Observations Limited, In Situ Site Investigation, Jacobs and NGI.
