RedR Responds: Cyclone Idai

On Thursday 14 March, one of the worst tropical cyclones on record to affect Africa and the Southern Hemisphere made landfall in the port city of Beira, Mozambique. Wind speeds of up to 106 mph and storm-surge floods of up to six metres caused severe flooding and wreaked havoc across the region, destroying homes and devastating crops, infrastructure and livelihoods.

Fundraiser of the Month: Dr James Lawrence

We are really pleased to be celebrating the incredible fundraising efforts of Dr James Lawrence, a member of the British Geotechnical Association who has raised £1,210 for RedR UK from the recent Rankine Lecture.

Developing the Neighborhood Approach

As part of the Neighborhood Approach project, RedR UK is running a series of consultation workshops to develop the approach and to help meet the need for a more integrated, holistic and inclusive approach to humanitarian programming.

Following a series of workshops in Jordan and the UK, the Urban Competency Framework (UCF), supported by funding from the International Rescue Committee and EU Humanitarian Aid (ECHO), has been published online.
