Fundraise For Us

Go Red 2023

A big week to make a big difference

15-19 May 2023

Go Red is a week of fun, competitive, and informative fundraising events.

Our 2023 focus

For the private and third sectors, as well as the vulnerable communities most affected, climate change poses undeniable challenges. Where can we intersect and collaborate to tackle them? Alongside the fun and lighthearted competition this week, we'll consider this question.

Who takes part in Go Red?

Partners taking part this year include Ramboll, WSP, Mott McDonald, Tony Gee, and ARUP. Three new partners join us for the first time in 2023 - Thornton-Tomasetti, Laing O'Rourke, and AECOM.

It’s not too late to join us! Email fundraising@redr.org.uk to let us know you’ll be taking part.

Why do our corporate partners support us? Our partners feature in this video, explaining why they support RedR UK.

If you're not associated with a corporate partner, you can still take part in Go Red events on your own or in a group. Email fundraising@redr.org.uk so we know how to support you.

Why support RedR UK?

RedR UK supports communities to strengthen capacity to prepare for and respond to disasters. Our team of more than 200 Associate Trainers delivers cutting-edge expertise to humanitarian actors at all levels. We're there for personnel at UN agencies and the world's biggest NGOs, as well as local actors at the grassroots level. We also provide insights for those new to the humanitarian sector, in our flagship "So you think you want to be an aid worker?" course, for instance.

What’s involved:

This week you'll engage with our work, find connections with yours, and truly make a difference for people affected by disaster.

Motivation Monday (15 May): Climate Change panel session

In the first of two webinars we will be bringing together a panel of experts from our Corporate Partners, RedR UK and other Humanitarian organizations to discuss the impact of Climate Change on their organizations and the wider community. Looking at how each sector views Climate change and getting opinions from their perspective.

The panel will be made up of 6 people, 3 from Corporates and 3 from Humanitarian organisations, each giving their perspective on the issues and how each sector is approaching them, followed by a Q&A session.

Ruby Tuesday (16 May): Introduction to Mindfulness

Take time to reflect, reset, and, in the words of the Rolling Stones, “catch your dreams before they slip away”. Whether you’re an experienced meditator or it all feels a bit strange to you, mindfulness has undeniable benefits. The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence in the UK recommends employers make mindfulness available to all employees.

The session includes breath work exercises, a guided body scan meditation, and some practical tools to help you cope with overwhelm. An introduction to a psychometric modality and strengths exercise will help you appreciate your strengths and how you may differ from others. Learn how to draw on them both from within themselves and by utilising strengths in colleagues.

Could you giftmatch?

Many companies offer gift matching schemes, matching the donations made by their employees. This is a great way to encourage your employees to donate to RedR UK and double the impact of their donation. If this might be a possibility for you, please contact fundraising@redr.org.uk.
