Since 1987, Ian has worked at the Water, Engineering and Development Centre (WEDC) at Loughborough University, where he currently holds the post of Principal Programme Manager. During his time here he also spent six years as Director of the Centre.
Area of interest
Ian has more than 30 years' experience in education, training, research and consultancy relating to water engineering and management in developing countries. His experience includes long-term assignments with engineering company Mott MacDonald in countries such as Somalia, Nepal, Indonesia and Bhutan.
His special interest lies in strengthening the delivery of services to people in need, through identifiying and disseminating best practice, training and supporting fieldworkers, and effective management.
