  • A warm welcome to our new Trustees

We're excited to introduce two exceptional new members of our Board - Heather McKinlay and Melanie Sallis. Both come with strong expertise in their respective fields. We look forward to working with them and having them in the RedR UK team!

Heather McKinlay: Treasurer

Heather was awarded a Bachelor of Business Administration from Wilfrid Laurier University in her native Canada. She holds both the Canadian Chartered Professional Accountant designation, as well as the Certified Public Accountant designation in the U.S.

She has spent most of her career in the insurance industry, spanning Canada, Switzerland, and the UK, where she has held several senior finance roles, including Chief Financial Officer.

Heather joined RedR UK as Treasurer at the end of 2020, after privately supporting various humanitarian relief causes. With more than 20 years of experience in finance and insurance, Heather looks forward to supporting and refining RedR UK’s financial operations. In doing so, she will help the organisation maximise its resources to fulfil its ambitious mandate to deliver training and build local resilience, ensuring effective responses to humanitarian crises.

Melanie Sallis: Trustee

Melanie is a leading specialist in membership and fundraising with more than 30 years of experience in the sector. She was awarded an Masters in Marketing from Bristol Business School and has since held several director-level positions, being responsible for all aspects of fundraising, marketing, and membership.

At the end of 2020, Melanie joined RedR UK as a Trustee, specialising in fundraising, bringing a breadth of skills, knowledge, and practical experience to the organisation. Although new to the field of humanitarian relief, Melanie’s understanding of donors and marketing brings a new focus to RedR UK’s Board of Trustees.

Looking to the future, Melanie is keen to re-energise RedR UK’s fundraising strategy and identify new business development opportunities.
