  • Sophie Gillibert appointed as RedR UK's Chair of Board of Trustees

Sophie Gillibert has recently been appointed the new Chair of RedR UK’s Board of Trustees. From financial and project management to driving operational performance within bank regulatory operations, Sophie has extensive experience in banking and finance, and takes the position of Chair following a successful career with various top-ten financial institutions in the City.

In April 2020, Sophie was appointed Treasurer of RedR UK’s Board. Having worked with the CEO and fellow trustees during this year’s challenging environment, she has now been appointed as Chair of the Board of Trustees at the recent AGM.

Sophie holds an MSc. in Finance from Strathclyde University and became a chartered accountant while starting her career with CitiGroup. She is currently Chief of Staff for the Europe Transformation Programme at HSBC.

Sophie brings oversight and experience in governance from her background in banking to enable the delivery of RedR’s mission: to optimise capacity-building to drive effective humanitarian action.

Jo de Serrano, CEO of RedR UK, is delighted by Sophie’s appointment: “I am extremely pleased that Sophie Gillibert has been appointed as Chair of RedR UK. In her short time as RedR UK Trustee and Treasurer, Sophie has proven herself to be a tour de force and I am sure she will bring that same passion and energy to the role of Chair.”

Sophie is also thrilled to be joining the RedR UK team: "I’m delighted to be appointed Chair of RedR UK, joining at a critical time when both outside events and internal transformation are creating some pressure on team, board and finances.

There is so much potential in RedR UK; it’s very exciting to be part of shaping a revived, dynamic and forward looking charity which can give so much where the needs are.”
