Walk for Disaster Relief

Be inspired. Start fundraising. Start walking!

RedR UK would not be able to achieve its success without the incredible support of our fundraisers and donors. If you’re interested in supporting RedR’s work, perhaps you and your company will consider joining our latest fundraising initiative – Walk for Disaster Relief.

By signing up, you’ll take part in a walking challenge, recording your steps as you go. Through sponsorships from friends and family, you’ll be raising money for a great cause every step of the way. Whoever records the most steps, wins.

Wait! It Doesn’t End There!

Following the walking stage of the challenge, we’ll organise a Disaster Relief Workshop for you and your colleagues. Based on the Rohingya refugee response, this exciting simulation will place you in the shoes of an aid worker for a day.

If you want to inspire your company to get involved, email fundraising@redr.org.uk

Why Walk for RedR UK?

RedR UK trains thousands of aid workers every year. Every sponsored step you take will help support our work. As well as raising money for a worthwhile cause, our challenge will:

  • Support the physical and mental wellbeing of you and your colleagues.
  • Offer the chance to connect virtually with your co-workers.
  • Raise awareness of the plight of Rohingya refugees.

The miles logged will highlight the lengths that Rohingya refugees go through to reach safety. Escaping the violence and human rights abuses, more than 700,000 Rohingya refugees have fled Myanmar since 2017.

You can read more about the Rohingya refugee crisis here.

Our Disaster Relief Workshop, based on the humanitarian response to this crisis, will challenge participants to adapt to the complex issues surrounding disaster relief. The workshop will promote team building, cultural awareness, and problem solving among many other skills.
