Richard has been training hard throughout August, so he’s in tip top shape to trek the Yorkshire Peaks over the first weekend in September. The Trekfest will be no easy feat, with 50km of steep ascents and difficult valleys to scramble over, especially as he’s juggling his training with his chairmanship of BACA and his day job a
s a solicitor. But Richard is spurred on by the knowledge he’s fundraising for RedR:
“I’m a keen walker, and have been training on the steep climbs of the South West Coast Path over the summer. My dog has never been so fit! I’m quietly optimistic that I can complete the challenge without too many kilometres walking in the dark…”
BACA is a trade association in the air charter market, and each year works with a charity chosen by the Council and Chairman to raise awareness and funds. BACA is an international association, and so the global disaster relief work of RedR is really important to Richard and its other members- many of whom are involved in disaster relief.
