RedR UK's annual careers fair is a chance for those interested in the sector to network with humanitarian organisations and learn more about the sector.

Over a hundred participants interested in joining the humanitarian sector,  a mixture of student, young professionals and those looking to make a career change, attended this year’s “Kickstart Your Humanitarian Career” fair organised by RedR UK, which hosted organisations from across the spectrum of the humanitarian operational and academic/training field.

Nine organisations took part in the event: RedR UK, SARAID, Doctors of the World, International Medical Corps, MedAir, Engineers Without Borders, Care4Calais, ECHO100Plus and the Warwick University.

Networking and Panel Discussions

The first part of the event allowed attendees to browse the stalls of the organisations taking part and to network with their representatives. Visitors were also able to listen to a panel discussion with RedR Members Richard Luff and Stephen Blakemore, hosted by RedR's Membership Coordinator Ellie Munari. The disucssion centred around the skills needed to become a humantiaran worker and the pathways availble to get into the sector. Topics covered in the discussion included:
