Understand the importance of focusing on staying effective in emergencies
RedR UK is offering a free-of-charge, innovative, high-quality online training course designed to provide technical responders of all disciplines in Libya (however all emergency responders are more than welcome) with an understanding of the knowledge and skills necessary to conduct water safety planning in flood-affected communities in Eastern Libya.
The facilitated module uses participatory methods and it is expected that learners will participate in discussions and activities to deepen their understanding of the concepts that are discussed. Participants will be offered opportunities to share relevant personal experiences and reflections to benefit their own and others' learning.
Module aim
To support participants knowledge and skills necessary to conduct water safety planning in flood-affected communities
Module Objectives
- Understand how to conduct a risk assessment in Water Safety Planning
- Identify the correct techniques to undertake monitoring, surveillance and sampling
- Learn how to undertake emergency planning in Water Safety Planning
- Acknowledge effective ways to implement Water Safety Plans
Course Structure
The module comprises of a presession recorded video, a presession reading and one live facilitated session
Presession materials (compulsory): 60 minutes
Live facilitated session: 60-90 minutes
Total: 120-150 minutes (approx. 2 hours 30 minutes)

Who should attend?
The module is aimed at those responding to the Libya floods humanitarian crisis.
This course is offered for free; on a first come first served basis. We will be creating a waiting list, so please email us if the course is already full so we can keep you in mind if anybody drops out.
How to join?
The live online sessions are hosted on Zoom. We recommend joining via the Zoom app. Participants may join the training via a browser, although the browser offers limited access to some of the interactive features of the training. Participants will be expected to have a stable internet connection and to actively participate in all facilitated sessions.
If you complete registration and are no longer able to attend, please cancel your place through Eventbrite. This allows us to offer your place to someone else on the wait list.
