  • Great South Run: Mott MacDonald

On the 22 October 2017 a team of 17 Mott MacDonald runners from the Southampton Office took on the Great South Run for RedR UK.

The 17 brave souls joined over 20,000 others to run 10 miles across the Portsmouth sea front in the fresh Autumn cold. Not only did they manage to fundraise £1,080 for RedR's humanitarian work but they had fun doing so. Thanks to the Great South Run they've now got an office club up and running on a regular basis, and one member has already been inspired to run the London Marathon for RedR in 2018:

"It all started out with an office wide email back in July to gauge interest – “Who would be interested in joining a new office running club and train to complete the Great South Run?” Lucky for us we had a lot of interest from runners of all abilities – from complete beginners, to people just generally interested in fitness, to marathoners."

We'd like to thank the Mott MacDonald team for all their hard work and dedication that helped them raise over £1,000!

When it came time to decide who we would raise money for, a colleague suggested RedR due to the recent hurricanes that devastated parts of the world this year. Everyone got on board straight away and shared the JustGiving page with friends, family, and colleagues. In the end we managed to exceed the fundraising goal!
