This month we would like to say a massive thanks Shannon, Harriet and Natalie, our Laing O’Rourke Champions who have been working so hard to promote RedR UK among their colleagues working in various locations across the UK.
The trio took on the Champions roles in April 2018, and have been successfully promoting RedR UK's work and events ever since. They presented their mission and goals to their fellow graduates and have since been spreading the word about RedR UK. They have really taken to fundraising, recently raising £325 by organising a football tournment with staff from Laing O'Rourke. They will also be taking part in a 10k mud run in two weeks time and have been very successful in gathering a sizeable team for our Rajasthan Cycle next February.
Laing O’Rourke is an international engineering enterprise and have been Patrons of RedR UK since 2011. They have taken part in several of our Disaster Relief Simulations, including trekking to Petra and the Yorkshire Three Peaks. As a result, the Champions we have worked with at Laing O Rourke have helped us raise thousands of pounds on top of the Patron support.
The team say:
"As the new RedR Champions within Laing O’Rourke, we’ve really enjoyed our first few months in the role. From organising a company football match, to preparing for Rough Runner events, we’ve brought people together to raise awareness for such an important cause that resonates strongly with our company values and expertise.
RedR offer fantastic events to get involved in and have supported us with organising our events so far. We’re looking forward to continuing our fundraising efforts and raising awareness of RedR through getting involved in the Rajasthan Cycle and other smaller events throughout the year! "
